Eligibilty Requirements for Skilled Worker Visa
Demonstrate English language skills at CEFR Level B1.
Show £1,270 to support yourself for 28 days.
A confirmed job offer from a licensed sponsor.
The job must be at or above RQF Level 3 (A level).
Meet the threshold of £26,200/year or the job’s ‘going rate.’

Associated Fee & Cost
The Skilled Worker Visa application fee depends on the duration of your stay:
- £719 for visas up to 3 years.
- £1,420 for visas longer than 3 years.
This fee covers the processing of your visa application, allowing you to work and stay in the UK legally. Make sure to apply for the correct duration that matches your job offer and employment contract.
To access healthcare services in the UK, you must pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).
- £1,035 per year per applicant
This surcharge ensures that you and your family can access the National Health Service (NHS) during your stay. It is mandatory, even if you have private health insurance.
A Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) is an essential document issued by your UK employer.
- Cost: Covered by the sponsoring employer.
Your employer provides this certificate as proof that you have a valid job offer. It contains all necessary details about your job, including the role, salary, and duration of employment. This certificate is required to apply for your visa.
After spending 5 years on a Skilled Worker Visa, you may apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), provided that you’ve continuously lived and worked in the UK, meet salary requirements, and pass the English and Life in the UK tests
With a UK Skilled Worker Visa, you are allowed to

Bring your family members, including your partner and children, as dependents.
Pursue studies on a part-time or full-time basis.
Travel internationally and re-enter the UK without restrictions.
However, with this visa, you are restricted from
- Changing jobs or employers unless you update your visa and receive approval.
Claiming public funds or benefits from the government.
Participating in professional sports or working as a sportsperson or coach.
